John Flanagan has represented the Towns of Brookhaven, Huntington and Smithtown since his election in November of 2002. As the area's representative to the New York State Senate, he is dedicated to listening to and working with the people he represents.
Raised in Huntington, he graduated Harborfields High School, earned his B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and, in 1990, received a law degree from Touro Law School. He currently resides in East Northport with his wife Lisa and their three children, Ashley, Sean and Jake.
Senator Flanagan is following the path of his father, the late John Flanagan, who served in the New York State Assembly from 1972 to 1986.
